Coordinated Speed

Gotta head out to this eve's meeting. Every Monday same thing but for good cause. The convention is coming and I'm gonna be a part. But I'm fighting CP time tonight. I'm waiting for the DVD to burn but CP will be the caption over my head when I walk into the meeting room. I sure need a secretary. Peace and Hairgrease Jaqpott

My First Love

Back In Black

So here we are winding down yet another Black History month. It goes so quickly if you blink you migh miss it. My project dedicated to Black histroy is going over fairly well and it seems we're getting some mobilization from a lot of innovative Blacks around the country and here in Chicago.

For example, yesterday was a pretty good day (no AK, etc.). I still haven't really had a good night's sleep in a couple of decades but I accomodate for that by working around the clock. So I started the morning by making Chicken and Waffles for my girlfriend's brunch, setting up the display screens for y company presentation at a networking event and then coordinating parts of a performance for later that evening.

The presentation went over well I had a band playing behind me so it was more like spoken word than corporate boredom. When it was over I could tell the audience knew they had just seen something, but they weren't sure what. "The network that reaches out to you", that's all I could hope they took away. Radio personality and author Nikki Woods got it, but I did use her as an example. "Text NIKKI to 78247." And the Club owner is in love with the MegaTouch machines.

After the networing event I bounce over to the Spoken Word Cafe in Bronzeville. It's opening night for this new weekly live show on our network. The artist Mauri Sevier and Kaleidoscope, I manage is performaning and it's good to see them out again for the first time in five months. The crowd is small the women beautiful, (the second best part of my job by the way) and the sound was great. I was a bit to critical to enjoy the show but the audience did.

Today I get back to the adminstrative side of my job - contract negotiations with label partner, completing our annual business review for potential investors, and as Publicity chair of the National Hip Hop Political Convention, prepare a publicity schedule to disminate at a meeting later tonight.

All in all I think we'll make a dent in this Black History thing and that will more than make up for a lifetime of a lack of sleep. See you tommorow.
